Ceramic grain has the ability to fracture at a micron level constantly revealing sharp new cutting points. This helps to keep the workpiece cool providing a very clean cut and also help to extend the belt life by utilising all the grain. 

Purple Patch Ceramic material works better on harder metals such as Tool and Nimonic steels.
